Privacy

This Privacy Policy explains how Rothzerg Pty Ltd, trading as Myyol ("we," "our," or "us"), collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Myyol mobile application (the "App"). We designed Myyol to support people who want to quit or reduce smoking and vaping. Protecting your privacy matters to us; this policy describes our practices in plain language.

1. Who we are

The data controller for the App is Rothzerg Pty Ltd (Myyol). For privacy requests, contact [email protected] or use our support page.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account and authentication

When you create an account or sign in, we process identifiers through Firebase Authentication, which may include your email address, authentication tokens, and sign-in method (for example email and password or a linked provider supported in the App). We use this to identify your account and secure access to your data.

2.2 Profile and quit journey data

To provide core features, we process information you choose to enter or that the App generates, including for example: display name; quit date and related progress; preferences such as whether you track vaping, currency, and notification settings; estimates of cigarettes avoided, money saved, and time reclaimed; progress snapshots for charts; craving or coping sessions you start in the App; and relapse or "slip" events if you log them. Much of this is stored on your device and, when you use certain features, synchronized with our backend as described below.

2.3 Cloud storage (Firebase)

We use Google Cloud Firestore to store account-related and profile fields needed for the service (for example under paths associated with your user id). If you subscribe to Premium, quit profile data may be synced periodically to the cloud for backup and continuity across devices. Free-tier use may still involve limited Firestore data (such as profile completion flags) as required for sign-in and settings.

2.4 Subscriptions

Premium purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat (and related platform APIs) to validate entitlements and subscription status. We do not receive your full payment card details; we may receive transaction identifiers, product ids, and subscription state from the store and RevenueCat.

2.5 Advertising

The App may show Google AdMob banner ads on the free tier. AdMob and its partners may collect or use device identifiers, coarse location, IP address, and ad interaction data to deliver and measure ads, as described in Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob partner policies. Where the platform offers an opt-out or limit ad tracking (for example Apple's App Tracking Transparency), your choices apply as configured on your device.

2.6 Analytics, stability, and product messaging

We use Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) to understand aggregated usage—such as screens viewed and feature usage—and to improve the App. We use Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes and errors. We may use Firebase In-App Messaging or similar tools to show contextual messages inside the App. These services may assign pseudonymous identifiers and process technical data as described in Google's Privacy Policy.

2.7 Local notifications

If you enable them, the App schedules local notifications on your device (for example daily motivation at a time you allow). These are delivered by the operating system; we do not need to run a separate server-side push service for that daily reminder unless we introduce one in a future version—in which case we will update this policy.

2.8 Device and technical data

We collect limited technical information such as device type, operating system version, app version, language, and diagnostic logs. Firebase Remote Config may be used to tune features (for example which distraction activity is available on the free tier) without identifying you as an individual beyond what analytics already collects.

3. How we use information

  • Provide and operate Myyol (quit tracking, progress, health milestones, distraction activities, settings)
  • Authenticate you, protect accounts, and prevent abuse
  • Process Premium access and show ads where applicable
  • Sync Premium quit data to the cloud where you have enabled or purchased that functionality
  • Improve reliability, fix bugs, and understand aggregate product usage
  • Comply with law and respond to lawful requests

We do not sell your personal information in the conventional sense (no money for your contact lists).

4. Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar regions)

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: contract (providing the App you asked for); legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, product improvement, analytics in aggregate form); and consent where required (for example certain marketing or optional tracking, depending on your region and platform settings). You may withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, subject to limitations needed to provide the service.

5. Sharing and processors

We share data with service providers who process it on our instructions, including:

  • Google (Firebase, Cloud Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics, In-App Messaging, AdMob)
  • RevenueCat and Apple / Google for subscriptions

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or asset sale (with notice where required).

6. International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States, Australia, the European Union, and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.

7. Retention

We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the App, then delete or anonymize it unless a longer period is required for legal, security, or dispute resolution. Store receipt and subscription records may be retained as required by tax or accounting rules. Analytics and crash data may be retained in aggregated or pseudonymous form according to Google's policies.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; use the App with that understanding.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can contact us at [email protected]. You may also control notifications in the App and OS settings, manage subscription cancellation in your App Store or Google Play account, and use platform ad privacy settings where available.

If you are in the EEA or UK, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA; we do not "sell" or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined in California law beyond what ad partners do when displaying ads—see Google's disclosures for device-level choices.

10. Children

Myyol is not directed at children under 18 (or the minimum age required in your country to consent to data processing). We do not knowingly collect personal information from young children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy in the App or on this site and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be highlighted in the App or by other reasonable means where appropriate.
